Madeira has received many glowing nicknames of which the most prestigious are "the eighth wonder of the world" and "the last paradise".
These nicknames were inspired by the beauty of the landscapes, which prompted an English poet to celebrate Madeira as the homeland of flowers.
Madeira, a true jewel, is set in the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
It is an island with lush vegetation, emerald peaks and countless flowers.
Its vineyards produce a famous wine, known throughout the world, and its geographical location offers a year round climate of sweetness and purity.
